Polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) is a core product of the superhard materials field. Through a high-pressure high-temperature process (1,400-1,600 °C, 5-7 GPa), a synthetic polycrystalline diamond (PCD) layer is firmly bonded to a cemented tungsten carbide (WC-Co) substrate, combining the superhard wear resistance of diamond with the toughness and impact strength of carbide.
