PCBN Cutting Tool Blanks

Product Introduction

PCBN composites sintered from cubic boron nitride powder onto a carbide substrate. Hardness second only to diamond with red hardness up to 1,400 °C for high-speed dry cutting of hardened steel and cast iron — turning instead of grinding. CBN content from 50% to 95%.

PCBN composites are superhard composite materials sintered from cubic boron nitride (CBN) powder and binders onto a cemented carbide substrate under high pressure and high temperature. Chemically stable at high temperature, they do not react with ferrous metals — no built-up edge, clean and stable surfaces — and can replace grinding operations for higher efficiency and lower cost.
